Occupational Therapy

At AAVI- Our Occupational Therapy team is dedicated to helping patients recover from, or adapt to, the challenges of illness or disability. We work closely with patients, their families, and primary care physicians to develop a personalized plan of care that supports a smooth adjustment and promotes independence.

Our approach is practical, and patient centered. We incorporate therapeutic activities and exercises based on real-life routines—such as grooming, cooking, or getting dressed—to help individuals regain strength, coordination, and confidence in their daily lives. By focusing on what matters most to each person, we guide them toward reclaiming control and actively participating in the life they love.

How We Help/What We Do

At AAVI, our Occupational Therapists take a hands-on, collaborative approach to care—working closely with both patients and their families to support recovery and independence. Here’s what you can expect:

  • Comprehensive Assessment & Evaluation
Begins by evaluating the patient’s physical, cognitive, and functional status to identify their unique needs and goals.
  • Personalized Therapy Planning
Based on the evaluation, we develop and implement a tailored therapeutic program.
  • Restoration of Physical Function
Helps patients regain strength, mobility, and physical abilities impacted by illness or injury.
  • Improvement of Coordination & Balance
Targeted exercises promote better body control and reduce the risk of falls.
  • Recovery of Sensory & Integrative Functions
Therapy includes activities that enhance sensory processing and cognitive integration.
  • Training in Compensation Techniques
Teaching adaptive methods to manage physical limitations and improve daily performance.
  • Custom Devices & Assistive Tools
Our team designs, fits, and trains patients in the use of orthotic supports and self-help devices.
  • Focus on Daily Living Skills
Our goal is to boost independence in safely performing essential activities such as dressing, bathing, and meal preparation.
